Evidence- based interventions to reduce sexual risk behaviors among adolescents

“The Families Matter! Program (FMP) is an evidence-based intervention for parents and caregivers of 9-12 year-olds that promotes positive parenting practices and effective parent-child communication about sex-related issues and sexual risk reduction.”  It can be implemented using 7 small group parenting sessions delivered in 3-hour sessions, in churches. This overview describes the program and provides information about obtaining resources in order to implement the program.
